The Milan event has come and gone.  It was very nice to just hop in our truck and drive 45 min to the track.  The pits were full with local racers.  10.5 racer Jim Munson showed up to play and for the first time this year Real Street Champian Bruce Hemminger showed up.  Bruce has been busy with his new car build and said money was really tight right now.  Wizard1 and Wizard2, Brian Mitchell and Dan Rawls both in EFI Renegade didn't make the trip down.  We only had rain for 20min, just enough to get everything wet and have the track guys start all over again.  In first round of Qualifying Mike Murrillo got a little out of the groove and touched the wall with his left bull horn.

Saturday was very hot and humid!  In Pro Outlaw 10.5 Mike Murrillo and Conrad Scarry where fighting for #1 qualifier with Conrad coming out on top.  Johnny Mac at his home track came out on top as well in Super Street Outlaw.  As did Jason Lee in Drag Radial.  The racing was really fast paced Saturday with cars moving quickly through the staging lanes.

The Finals had some great races Tommy Godfrey red lit handing Jay Dold the win in Factory Stock.  In Pure Street Jim St. Charles turned the win bulb on against Steve Gillord.  Real Street seen the return of Bruce Hemminger and it was business as usual, beating down the competition Dan Baumann.  EFI Renegade would have been a good race but Joel Howard couldn't make it to the line and gave the win to Chris Van Gilder.  Hot Street showed the heavy hitters, Don Bowles and Charlie Booze Jr.  Charlie usually puts his car on the bumper but this time it was Don with the huge wheel stand that gave Charlie the advantage for the win!  Drag Radial pitted Steve Biggs against the man Jason Lee who took the win sweeping the series so far this year.  Super Street Outlaw saw John Urist and Chris Tuten in the finals.  When the lights came down Urist left early and handed the win to Chris, everyone cheered for Chris as this was his first win in SSO.  We caught up with Chris after his win and this is what he said...

Chris, you have been running this class for for 2 1/2 years how does it feel to put up your first "W"

It's cloud 10! It's awesome!  I mean its alot of work,  it feels so good to finally win.  All the blowing up and feeling bad, getting beat every single race for God knows how long.  Talk about we can win, we can do it!  There is nothing better than that right now.  I haven't any kids so I can't say having a kid is better, I'm not married yet so I can't say that it is better, so right now this is the best.  If we had to quit today, if I had to throw in the towel, if I got into a wreck on the way home and broke my whole body and I couldn't race, I'd be happy.

The finals in Pro Outlaw 10.5 saw Conrad Scarry and Mike Murillo.  Both cars with big block twin Turbo combos sound strong as they pulled to the line.  When the tree came down it was Conrad that tripped the beams first on the top end with his 3 for 3 wins of the season.

All in all Milan was a great event!
