Fun Ford Facts
On June 16 1903 the papers were filed to incorporate Ford Motor Company. This was not Ford's first automobile company. The first was on August 5 1899, named "The Detroit Automobile Company" and the second was on November 30 1901 "Henry Ford Company". Both companys closed mostly due to the fact that the investors wanted to only build expensive luxury cars which is not what Ford had envisioned. In 1917 "The Lincoln Motor Company" was formed with a manager from the Henry Ford Company, another enterprise devoted to making high quality highend automobiles. But the company went into receivership after a few years and was purchased out right by Ford Motor Company. |
